Snapdragon

Snapdragon, also known as Antirrhinum, is a charming, upright flowering plant loved for its tall spikes of colorful blooms. The flowers resemble tiny dragon mouths that “snap” open when gently squeezed — giving the plant its playful name.

Snapdragons are excellent for flower beds, borders, and cottage-style plantings, adding vertical structure and soft elegance. They bloom in a wide range of colors including pink, red, yellow, orange, white, and purple. In cooler climates, they bloom from late spring through early autumn and may slow down during intense summer heat.

They look especially beautiful when planted in clusters or layered behind lower-growing flowers.

Care Tips:

• Prefer full sun to partial shade

• Grow best in well-drained, moderately fertile soil

• Water regularly but avoid soggy soil

• Deadhead to encourage more blooms

• May act as a short-lived perennial in mild climates
